CCNS is a small and nurturing program with a holistic approach to teaching and learning. For almost 40 years we have aligned ourselves with progressive educators who beleive that active, child-initiated learning sparks the imagination, fosters healthy relationships and encourages the development of self confidence. Our classrooms are equipped with intellectually stimulating, open-ended materials which provide a wide range of experiences, and our special activities include weekly music classes, story-telling, and a monthly children's chapel. Our educational approach is research-based with focused teaching through play activities planned for individuals and small groups on a daily basis.

At our school children study themselves, their families and things in the communityl Our pre kindergharden children take walking trips to places of interest - the library, the shoe store, the bakery - and use these experiences to develop elaborate play scenarios. The children might also decide to recreate their experiences in the block room.
